Sharepoint Specialist – Information Technology

Description


The continued success of Comact in the wood-processing industry, mainly across North America, leads us to be constantly on the lookout for new talent to expand our team.

Under the supervision of the IT Director, we are seeking a SharePoint Specialist who combines technical excellence (SharePoint Online, Power Platform, automation, light development) with project leadership (planning, coordination, communication). You will play a key role in modernizing our M365 environments, optimizing content governance, and delivering business solutions that simplify collaboration.

Roles and Responsibilities

M365 / SharePoint Governance & Architecture

  • Design and evolve site architecture (hub sites, collections, navigation, security, metadata, content types, retention/labels).
  • Define and enforce permission controls, external sharing settings, and governance best practices.
  • Oversee implementations and support user adoption.

Development & Automation (basic programming)

  • Develop SPFx solutions (web parts, extensions), PowerShell/PnP scripts, Power Automate flows, Power Apps (canvas/model-driven), and M365/Graph connectors.
  • Integrate SharePoint with internal systems (API/REST, Azure Functions/Logic Apps) and implement CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/Git).

Project Management

  • Manage backlog, timelines, and dependencies.
  • Lead testing, deployment, change management, and training activities.

Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Act as a SharePoint/Power Platform reference for the organization.
  • Develop and execute improvement plans.

Required Skills

Technical (mandatory)

  • SharePoint Online / Microsoft 365 (sites, libraries, permissions, search, metadata).
  • Power Platform: Power Automate (automation), Power Apps (forms/apps), Dataverse (asset).
  • Programming: JavaScript/TypeScript (SPFx), C#/.NET (asset), PowerShell/PnP.
  • Graph / REST APIs, knowledge of Azure (Azure AD / Microsoft Entra, Logic Apps, Functions).
  • Tools: Azure DevOps or GitHub (repos, pipelines).
  • Experience developing custom agents (Copilot Studio).
  • Awareness of limitations and best practices (security, governance, data privacy).
  • Ability to train and support users in adopting AI-powered tools.

Project Management

  • Experience leading IT projects.
  • Excellent communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong documentation discipline (charters, project plans, risk/dependency logs, deliverables).

Profile & Requirements

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in SharePoint/M365.
  • 3–5 years in automation / light development (SPFx / Power Platform / PowerShell).
  • 1–3 years in IT project management or coordination (formal or informal).
  • Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written).
