Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the technical execution of projects, from design through manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
• Define equipment specifications, configurations, and operating parameters based on our customers’ needs.
• Perform calculations, component sizing, technical validations, and simulations required for projects.
• Adapt our designs to meet specific project requirements and contribute to product development and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with design and drafting teams and provide technical follow-up on the equipment under your responsibility.
• Identify and resolve technical issues encountered throughout project execution.

Travel to Project Sites Across Canada, the United States, and Internationally

Field assignments are an integral part of the professional development of Application Engineers at Comact. They provide valuable hands-on experience with our equipment and customers while helping develop technical judgment, initiative, and autonomy.

• Travel frequency: Approximately 4 to 6 trips per year
• Duration: Typically 10 to 12 days per trip
• Participate in troubleshooting equipment issues encountered on project sites.
• Conduct inspections and assessments to evaluate equipment installation, operation, performance, and maintainability.
• Document observations, measurements, interventions, and findings from field assignments.
• Participate in implementing and validating corrective actions.
• Take field measurements of existing equipment requiring modifications.
• Provide engineering support during equipment installation and start-up.
• Participate in technical meetings with customers.

• Installation and commissioning teams;
• Sales and Aftermarket teams;
• Our customers and technical partners.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) status with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
• Recent graduates, EITs, and engineers with a few years of experience are welcome to apply.
• Strong proficiency in both French and English, written and spoken.
• Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
• Autonomy, attention to detail, and strong priority management skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across different teams.
• Interest in hands-on work with equipment and travel to project sites.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment where priorities may change quickly.
