Automation Specialist – Technical Support

Description


Do you have a College Diploma (DEC) or a Bachelor’s Degree (BAC) in Electrical Engineering, or any other equivalent combination of training and experience? Are you interested in combining office and field work? Are you committed to excellent customer service and enjoy solving complex challenges?

As a specialist, you’ll be helping our customers ( in the field and/or in the call center) achieve their production targets. You will help them improve the performance and productivity of their equipment through fully integrated solutions – audits, maintenance plans, health and safety plans, etc.

Main responsibilities

  • Optimize uptime – proactively identify and solve customer challenges;
  • Advise and train customers in the use of their equipment;
  • Understand customers’ operational and management needs and make clear recommendations;
  • Ensure a harmonious relationship with customers and team members;
  • Report daily on site activities;
  • Provide technical telephone assistance for troubleshooting, in collaboration with the technical support team;
  • Remain available to communicate with management and customers outside traditional working hours;
  • Promote equipment repair, upgrade and training services to customers;
  • Verify equipment and provide recommendations to optimize productivity;
  • Test equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations;
  • Promote health and safety practices;

Skills required

  • College diploma in industrial electronics or bachelor’s degree in electrical or automated production engineering – or any other related field;
  • Knowledge of Allen-Bradley products and Rockwell software;
  • Available to travel on a regular basis – minimum 50% of the time;
  • Field experience with electromechanical, robotic, pneumatic or hydraulic equipment;
  • Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical and pneumatic diagrams;
  • Basic computer and network skills;
  • Experience in PLC troubleshooting – an asset;
  • Knowledge of industrial safety principles – an asset;
  • Consultative sales skills – ability to discover customer needs and serve them well;
  • Good time management skills;
  • Good communication and training skills in English and French;
  • Autumn and methodical;
  • Leadership skills;
  • Meticulous and precise.
