Join Our Team as an HS Coordinator – A Dynamic and Exciting Role! We are looking for a passionate and energetic individual to join our team as a Health and Safety Coordinator (HS). This 100% travel-based position, working directly on construction sites across Canada, offers stimulating challenges and the opportunity to gain invaluable hands-on experience. Key Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in ensuring the safety of our employees and subcontractors on job sites. This role requires a motivated individual with strong organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Lead daily and weekly health and safety meetings on-site to address ongoing issues and promote best practices.
- Facilitate onboarding for new employees and subcontractors, ensuring they are familiar with health and safety procedures and expectations.
- Deliver health and safety training sessions and maintain accurate and up-to-date training records.
- Conduct daily site safety walkthroughs, identify potential hazards, and collaborate with project managers to implement corrective actions.
- Maintain clear communication with all team members and subcontractors, fostering a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
- Conduct incident investigations when required and ensure timely notification of regulatory authorities.
- Participate in daily toolbox meetings to discuss safety protocols and objectives.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in health and safety and construction (an asset).
- Proficiency in French will be considered an asset.
- Willingness to travel frequently—projects can be located anywhere in Canada.
- Basic computer knowledge, including proficiency in Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to speak in front of groups of up to 100 people.
- Proactive and able to work independently.
- Outgoing personality with the ability to foster a team-oriented approach.
Working Conditions:
- Flexible rotation schedules available: 15/6, 15/7, or 10/4.
